Zhang Yaxi "The Gate of Life": Monumental Bronze Sculpture Also a Small Maquette Sculpture |
"The Gate of Life" is
a 4 metre high bronze sculpture created by Yaxi during the China Changchun
International Sculpture Symposium of 2001 and now permanently displayed in the
China Changchun World Sculpture Park. The theme for the Symposium was "Friendship, Spring and Peace". In her mother and child sculpture, Yaxi expressed both the emotions of a mother (who has borne the suffering of childbirth) and the emotions she imagines a child has when first learning to walk held in the safe confines of its mother's arms. A maquette size sculpture is available for purchase as a limited edition bronze (series of 8, see details below) or in bronze resin as part of an unlimited edition. Yaxi can be commissioned for public outdoor sculptures anywhere in the world. Simply use the Contact Form.
